The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Cedar County Memorial Hospital can help you begin a healthier future. Physical activity is an essential factor in recovery from a heart attack or heart surgery and will benefit those at risk to heart disease. This service is offered so that those individuals living in Cedar County and the communities of the surrounding counties can receive cardiac rehabilitation as prescribed by their family physician or cardiologist.

Stress testing and exercise equipment for both upper and lower extremity conditioning is available as well as information and instruction about cardiac disease treatment and risk factor reduction.
Experience cardiac rehabilitation staff will carefully monitor individual progress during a 60-90 minute exercise session on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Progress will be reported regularly to the referring physician.
Phase II Rehabilitation begins soon after hospital discharge and continues for 8-12 weeks, according to individual progress and physician recommendation and is reimbursed by medicare and many third party payers.

Phase III Rehabilitation provides a maintenance exercise program for graduate Phase II participants and others at risk to heart disease.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation program is offered as our outpatient service. It is located at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital Medical Mall with parking in front of the building.
Many individuals’ risks of heart disease can be correlated to controllable environmental factors: smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high fat diets, stressful lifestyle, and lack or exercise.
